Louis and Melissa McBurney have traveled
extensively to serve missionaries in many parts of the world
including Africa, Austria, Cyprus, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong,
Indonesia, Iran Jaya, Malaysia, Pakistan, Thailand, Sri Lanka,
and Venezuela. The McBurneys ’ involvement
has included various interventions, but the Lord has continued
to place on their hearts the desire to bring Marble Retreat
two-week, brief intensive therapy groups to the world.
The
McBurneys, along with the Marble Retreat Board of Directors,
are convinced that these sessions have provided significant
help to those in crisis. Both in Marble and abroad they
have seen couples find important turning points individually
and as marriage partners. Conflicts with each other,
with mission colleagues, with self and even (or especially)
with God have brought pain and pressure. A retreat time alone,
free from distractions and in a safe environment, provides
a unique respite, a chance for new beginnings.
